The best recommendations come from people who have been there – tried the beds, sampled the food and been served by the staff. We at Private Homes & Villas do just that. Every villa on our website has been inspected by one of our staff, typically including an overnight stay (tough life I know!). The staff are seasoned
villa experts having seen more villas than you and I could stay in for a lifetime.

Our aim is to tell you as we see it so when you arrive for your dream holiday, you get what you were expecting and no hidden surprises. We pride ourselves on our complete independence – we have no vested interest in one villa to the next. We do have a vested interest in you agreeing with our reviews though because we would like you to use our services to book all your villas.

Each villa gets an overall score which relates to the star rating as follows.

The overall score is arrived at based on scoring 10 criteria on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best. These criteria are:

As well as scores our staff also give a brief commentary on what they thought of the villa personally comparing with many of the others they have seen. Here you will find the villa highlights and some possible surprises to take note of plus some commentary on the local area and things to do.

In addition to our own inspection we also collect our customers’ feedback. Their scores are included in the overall villa rating. Only our customers can write a review .

No rating system which is subjective can be perfect especially given the diversity of villas we see. We are aware of this and the rating system should be treated accordingly. It is there as a guide and will hopefully help you in selecting a villa. The only thing we would ask is that you register with us before reading our reviews.
